What is the current status?

Health and Safety (Offences) Act

Amends Section 33 of the Health and Safety At Work Act (HASAWA) 1974, to raise the maximum penalty available in the lower courts to £20,000 for most safety offences, and make imprisonment an option for more breaches

Came into force on January 16 2009

Health and Safety (Miscellaneous Amendments and Revocation) Regulations

Make revisions to the Manufacture and Storage of Explosives Regulations 2005, revoke redundant local mining regualtions and correct an omission in the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 

 In force 6 April 2009 

Health and Safety Information (Amnement) Regulations

Amend the 1989 Regulations to allow for new approved work place posters and leaflets that avoid the need for businesses to addor update information 

In force 6 April 2009 

Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homcide Act

Provides for new offence of corporate manslaughter (corporate homicide in Scotland )where an organisation's gross negligence has led to the death of one of it's employees or a member of the public.
